Our story

A family home since 1910

The house

Rey Colonial 1910 is a family home carefully restored as a boutique hotel to preserve its architectural heritage.

The high ceilings, solid wood doors, arches, stained glass and period furniture highlight the original republican-era character of the house, in the traditional Manga neighbourhood.

Today we operate as an exclusive boutique hotel with just five rooms, guaranteeing every guest complete privacy, personal attention and the comfort of a little home.

The rubber tree

More than 200 years of shade

From the moment you arrive, you will be greeted by a rubber tree more than 200 years old, which provides shade and a cool microclimate as you enter the hotel.

It is the symbol of the house and the inspiration for our logo: every stay at Rey Colonial 1910 begins beneath its canopy.

A tribute to our founder

Claudia Patricia Díaz

Behind every detail of Rey Colonial 1910 is Claudia Patricia Díaz: psychologist, image consulting coach, homemaker and host by vocation.

From psychology she learned to listen before speaking; from image consulting, that a first impression is built from details almost no one notices but everyone feels; and from her home, that hosting well is a way of caring. With that outlook she turned the house into a hotel where every guest is looked after like an invited friend.

Her purpose is both simple and demanding: that whoever walks through the door, beneath the shade of the rubber tree, feels expected. This space is a tribute to her, to her quiet work and to the warmth with which she brought this house to life.
